ARTISTS WANTED
LOCAL ARTISTS NEEDED FOR A FREE MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL
(Yes, this will be FREE to the public AND the artists thanks to Publix who has agreed to help with the event).
SATURDAY JUNE 28TH from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Veterans Park on Veterans Parkway off Race Track Rd.
St Johns, FL (previously known as Fruit Cove & south of Mandarin)
For performing arts we are looking for 26 - 30 of the best artists in our area! Any and all performing acts will be considered. Dance, solo, duets, instrumentalists, bands or just about anything!
Submit a 10 minute maximum DVD with contact information and short bio to:

NO CDs with music alone accepted! IT MUST BE A VIDEO. We are experienced with the live home video of music so don’t worry about the sound.
All performing arts submissions MUST be received by June 9th for consideration. You will be notified if chosen by June 12th.
For visual arts send your contact information and type of art you plan to display and or sell. You must provide your own canopy, chairs, tables and anything else you may need to display your art with. All are welcome but YOU MUST SEND YOUR INFORMATION IN TO SECURE A SPOT! US mail or email.
ALL artists MUST agree to volunteer 5 hours of pre festival work. Things like taking flyers around to local businesses, making phone calls, passing out flyers to the public, etc. You will be provided with clear and precise instructions when needed.

CALL FOR ARTISTS
8th Annual Regional Juried Exhibition
All Florida artists are eligible. The entry fee is $30 for up to 3 slides. Chosen artists will display their artwork in the Main Gallery of Gainesville’s historic Thomas Center from July 12th to August 24th, 2008. The exhibition will be juried by Dr. Amy Vigilante, current Director of the University galleries, School of Art and Art History at the University of Florida. Drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, fine crafts, and sculpture are eligible. Artists will display their work and compete for one $1000 prize and two $500 prizes, distributed during the award reception on July 17th, 2008. Awardees will also be eligible for entrance into a group exhibition, “Juror's Choice: 2008 Regional Award Winners” next year. The application deadline is May 21, 2008. The next Art and Soul exhibition at the Women's Center of Jacksonville is entitled, "On the Map." The theme of the show is the world around us captured in landscapes, architecture, and things made of natural materials. All forms of media are sought. Roxann Hilbert and Gene Hollomon at The Magic Dinners Restaurant in Mandarin on San Jose Blvd. Rox. did two Presentations, (J. Weldon Johnson and Barbara Jordan and Gene did some History of Paul Robeson and sang Ole Man River). The audience were customers at the affair!
