On Friday, September 19, 2008, The Haitian community presents, Relief for Haiti: A Charity Silent Art Auction, showcasing the works of local Haitian artist, Overstreet Ducasse, and original works of art by artist living in Haiti. This event will be held at the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum, located at 101 West 1st Street in historic Springfield, from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. A portion of the proceeds for this event will benefit the Crudem Foundation. This foundation has been assisting the people of Milot, Haiti and their surrounding region since 1968. Additionally, a group of prominent local physicians will be taking a trip to Haiti following this charity event to provide medical and humanitarian aid to the Crudem Foundation.
